Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 62   2b811b74128b6b9a862097bea220429a1472178178-full

As Father attempts to turn more of Briggs' soldiers into a new Philosopher's Stone, Van Hohenheim, Alphonse, Izumi, and May arrive on the surface to stop him. Van Chides Father's disdain for humans, noting that while humans are capable of creation, Homunculi are not, and as a god, Father is only capable of destruction. But while Hohenheim claims that his father's evolution has reached a dead end, the Homunculus responds by declaring that he will create humans to prove his parent wrong. Sure enough, several people sprout from his body - the lost souls of Xerxes, given corporeal form through alchemy. As the alchemists retreat in horror as the Xerxesians wander around, grateful to be back in the world of the living, Edward finally surfaces and when his father sees him, he grins and unleashes another blast of divine energy that destroys the newly resurrected. The Xerxes and bathe much of the Central Command complex in blinding light.

Down below, Alex Armstrong transforms a lift platform to bring himself, Olivier, Roy, Riza, Sig, and the chimeras to the surface, but it stops when the group reaches Greed's location. Greed informs them that the leader of the Homunculi is on a rampage above and tells all the wounded parties to stay behind while the warriors go ahead to support the Elric brothers. Olivier objects that they left her, noting that she has to go lead her troops, but a radio message from Karley explains that her father used his power to wipe out half of Central Command, and requests that the wounded Major General watch the battle from a safe place. . Olivier understands the situation, hands the radio to Alex and puts him in charge of the operation. With that settled, Roy declares that they must move now and explains to Greed that he can still use his powers to attack the Philosopher's Stone inside the Father, but that he needs Lt. Hawkeye's help to do so. Lan Fan also steps onto the platform and says that her place is with Prince Ling. Once Olivier, Sig and the injured Jerso exit, the platform continues towards ground level. Olivier, who spies the withered corpse of King Bradley, asks Scar if he was the one who killed him, but Scar replies that Bradley arrived on the scene covered in wounds, only because he was able to win in the end. Remembering her earlier report of the Buccaneer inflicting a mortal wound on the Führer, she bowed down by Wrath's corpse and asked him if he had seen how strong her men were.

As the dust on the surface clears to reveal massive damage, May moves to find that Alphonse's body - positioned to protect her from her father's attack - has been completely torn apart by the explosion. Edward also wakes up from his daze to find that his automail arm, though severely damaged, is still functional; when he finds Izumi lying next to him, he rushes to her aid, but she remarks that he is only alive because Hohenheim shielded her with his body at the last minute. Looking at his father's charred body, Ed heroically kneels before them and calls out to him, but when Van opens his eyes, his father appears behind him and pushes the old man aside. Deciding on Izumi and Edward as his first targets, Father attempts to extract their souls into the Philosopher's Stone, but is interrupted when Briggs' troops - pouring in from Central Command - open fire with rifles, rockets and machine guns, giving the alchemists time to get to safety . Father merely shrugs off these attacks, shielding himself with an impenetrable barrier of alchemical energy, but the soldiers are ordered to stand aside as a barrage of flames engulfs their inhuman foe; although the father is unharmed by the attack, Colonel Mustang, Major Armstrong, and Lieutenant Hawkeye appear on the scene. Hawkeye informs the blind Flame Alchemist that his target was off and gives him the direction of aim for his next massive salvo. Clapping his hands to compensate for the damage done to the Flame Alchemy gloves, Roy comments that he hasn't gotten the hang of transmutation without the rings, but as he quickly transforms the wall to defend against his father's counterattack, he claims to see its usefulness. The constant barrage continues from all sides, with Major Armstrong, Lan Fan, Zampano and Darius also contributing in an attempt to drain the Homuncul's energy reserves.

From a nearby landing, Greed watches in awe, declaring that such divine power would surely allow him to rule the world, but Ling notes from within his heart that the endless thirst the greedy Homunculus feels is not for power, but for something else. . Greed ignores Ling's advice and rushes into battle. Unfortunately, even though they all work together, the father remains unharmed, declaring that humans are unable to penetrate his defenses. Suddenly Greed emerges from a cloud of dust and smoke from the weapons and slams his fist right into his father's face, exclaiming that Homunculus could succeed where humans have failed, but as Father Greed grabs his hand, he thanks his son for giving him complete The Philosopher's Stone to him when he needed it most and begins to drain the Philosopher's Stone energy from his body. However, Greed counters that he knew the father would drop his guard to absorb the stone and explains that his own plan is to drain the god's energy instead. Greed begins to drain the energy from his father's body, but the Homunculus leader's pull is too strong and he reverses the flow. Seeing their friend in danger, Edward, Alex, and Izumi rush to Greed's aid and launch a volley of physical attacks. Overwhelmed by the multiple onslaught, Father pushes them all back with a wave of energy, shattering Edward's automatic arm, but the alchemists remain undeterred and launch a second wave. But when the father blocks a kick from Edward with his arms instead of energy, Hohenheim realizes that the Homunculus is at breaking point and can barely contain the God in his body. The father, bulging and writhing in agony, threatens to flee as the God's Eye rises from his gullet and into his mouth, falling to the ground and unleashing a massive blast of energy that throws everyone off his body.

Father has just managed to keep God in his form and is desperately searching for a soul to turn into a Philosopher's Stone, spying nearby Edward sprawled on a pile of broken concrete. Seeing the danger as his father approaches him, Ed tries to run to safety, only to find that his left arm has been impaled on some twisted rebar sticking out of the rubble, pinning him in place. Alphonse frantically tries to pull himself to Edward, but his body is too damaged to move, and the cracks in his armor have come dangerously close to his Blood Rune, threatening his soul if he takes any drastic action. moves. Out of options, Al devises a desperate plan and pleads with May for help; explaining that Edward sacrificed his right hand to obtain Al's soul, the armored alchemist assumes that the opposite should be possible. May objects to Al's planned self-sacrifice, but the armored alchemist insists there is no time and asks her to break his way to his brother. As the father descends on the helpless Edward, Maya's kunai sink into a circle around the Fullmetal Alchemist's empty right shoulder, drawing Ed's attention to their origin, where Alphonse lies inscribed in an identical circle. Ignoring his brother's desperate, protesting cries, Alphonse clasps his hands together and presses them against his Blood Rune, activating the circle and beginning the transmutation.

Inside the Gate, Al once again stands in front of his atrophied body asking the soul if it is finally ready. He answers in the affirmative, Al reaches out and takes his body by the arm; as the armor disintegrates, soul and body are finally reunited. Sitting by Edward's adjacent gate, still dressed in Fullmetal's arm and leg, Truth asks a complete Alphonse if his brother is coming to pick him up. When Al answers with an emphatic yes, Edward's flesh and blood right arm disintegrates from the form of Truth as the ethereal consciousness expresses curiosity at what the elder Elric is sacrificing in exchange for his brother's entire being.

In the corporeal plane, Edward stares in horror at the atrophied but organic right arm that has appeared on his shoulder, and angrily condemns his brother's recklessness, clapping his two human hands together for the first time in five years. Initiating the transmutation, Edward rips the reinforcement from his arm and transforms into an array of clay battering rams and weapons that mercilessly pound the Homuncul's body, causing serious injury. As everyone present cheers for Fullmetal, Ling informs a strangely silent Greed that what the greedy homunculus always really wanted was to have a world of friends to celebrate him, like Edward. Greed admits that Ling is right; his true desire was for friends. (That's why he valued hia chimera's followers so much.) Edward knocked his father to the ground with a furious fist and announced to the Homunculus that he was going to find out how far out of his league he was.
